Juniper included in the Australian Government COVID-19 Vaccine Program Rollout
The Australian Government’s COVID-19 vaccine program rollout commenced on Monday 22 February 2021 to Phase 1a priority groups which includes residential aged care residents and staff.
Juniper has been informed by the Government that two Juniper residential aged care facilities are included in the first week of the initial vaccination rollout.
Participation in the COVID-19 vaccine program is voluntary and free of charge. The Government is responsible for determining the date the COVID-19 vaccine program will be administered at each aged care facility. It is expected that residents and staff will be able to receive the vaccination in their facility.
Juniper is adhering to the Government’s procedures and guidelines. We will be communicating with our residents, resident families and staff as soon as notice is received from the Australian Government confirming vaccination program dates.
Aged care residents and staff should make sure they are fully informed about the COVID-19 vaccine, including speaking with their family and GP to ensure they understand the benefits and risks of the COVID-19 vaccine as it applies to them.
