Checking in on R U OK? Day

What better way for the Juniper team to get together on R U OK? Day than a morning tea.

As well as a great opportunity to check in with colleagues, the morning tea featured Aussie swimming legend Libby Trickett beamed live via video link to talk about her career and experiences.

After introductions from CEO Russell Bricknell and Juniper’s WHS Manager John Clarkson, the former Olympian and mental health advocate talked about how it was important to be vulnerable enough to ask for help and how it could be a powerful tool in achieving goals.

She recounted a pivotal lesson she learned at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and its profound impact on her life as well as some personal challenges that illustrated how mental health illness did not discriminate.

A big thanks to Allianz for making Libby’s presentation available to Juniper.

The annual R U OK? Day reminds us all that any day can be the day to check in with colleagues, family and friends. A conversation could change a life.
