COVID-19 Update 5 July 2021, 5:10pm

The WA Government announced today that the Interim Restrictions for Perth and Peel lockdown will end at midnight tonight, with eased Transitional Restrictions in place until 12.01am Monday 12 July 2021.

The full announcement can be read here.

The below information explains what this means for Juniper’s residential aged care facilities, home and community care services and retirement living communities.

Residential Aged Care

Perth Metropolitan Facilities

The following restricted visiting arrangements apply to all Perth residential care facilities, from Tuesday 6 July 2021 through to and including Sunday 11 July 2021, in accordance with Visitors to Residential Aged Care Facilities (Outbreak Restrictions (Transitional)) Directions.

  •  Up to four visitors are permitted per resident, per day.
  • Visitors and staff must wear masks at all times when onsite.
  • Bookings are required for all visits.
  • Volunteers, students, contractors, suppliers, hairdressers and other health professionals are permitted onsite.
  • All persons must sign a declaration that they have not attended an Exposure Site during the times specified as listed by the Health Department.
  • Visitor screening applies including health, travel and temperature checking. Some restrictions apply.
  • Off-site visits by residents are discouraged during this time, however may be considered subject to a COVID-19 risk assessment.

Before organising a visit to one of our residential care facilities, please read our Visiting Arrangements, for all Juniper Residential Care Facilities.

Our teams will continue to assist with phone and video calls, for those who would like them in lieu of in-person visits.

Regional Residential Care Facilities in Geraldton, Northam, Katanning, Albany and the Kimberley

Visitors who have been in the Perth or Peel regions since Sunday 27 June 2021, must wear a mask at all times while onsite and visits must be arranged with the Residential Manager.

All Juniper Residential Care Facilities

All visitors to Juniper residential care facilities are required to comply with Juniper’s Visiting Arrangements which include health and temperature screening, and declarations regarding travel, exposure to COVID-19, or visiting an Exposure Site or a quarantine facility.

It is also essential that anyone entering a residential aged care facility maintain physical distancing, good hand hygiene and cough etiquette to help prevent the spread of infection.

For more information, please contact the Residential Manager or Clinical Nurse Manager at your site.

Home and Community Care

Our Home and Community Care clients will continue to receive their essential services during this period of eased Transitional Restrictions. Our staff will continue to wear face masks during visits and will call clients in advance to ask pre-screening questions before attending their residence.

It is vital that clients who have attended the Exposure Sites during the times specified as listed by the Health Department, please disclose this to staff prior to receiving a visit, to ensure all care is taken when delivering essential support.

The health and safety of our clients, your family, carers and our staff members are our first priority. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and are taking action to ensure our clients are able to access the care, services and advice they need.

If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you please reconsider your services and phone us to discuss options so that together, we can keep every one of our clients and staff safe and well.

In addition, our staff will continue to practice good hand hygiene, reduce unnecessary contact, and adopt other precautions including, for example, wearing a face mask.

Retirement Living – Perth Region

We remind our retirement living communities to follow WA Government directions during the eased Transitional Restrictions period, including wearing a mask outside their home, in indoor spaces and outdoors where physical distancing is not possible.

A 30-person limit applies to home gatherings and a 150-person limit applies to outdoor gatherings during this time. All common areas and cafes are open but are limited to the 2 sqm rule.

Our Retirement Living Coordinators will return to the office, wearing masks.

All residents are reminded to always maintain physical distancing, good hand hygiene and cough etiquette, and if you are experiencing any symptoms, please see your GP.

Currently no Juniper staff or resident has tested positive to COVID-19.

Thanks to our entire Juniper community for your ongoing cooperation. Your understanding and patience is always very much appreciated.

This information will be updated as further information comes to hand.
