World Physio Day on September 8 gives Juniper an opportunity to recognise its dedicated physiotherapists and therapy assistants delivering exercise programs to customers such as Glenyce Chrystal.
The active 93-year-old is at the halfway point of the Training Education Exercise (TrEdEx) program, which provides 30-minute weekly exercise sessions, as well as a series of home exercises to prevent falls at home.
Aimed at enabling the functional ability of Juniper Home Care customers, TrEdEx is a partnership project between University of Western Australia (UWA) researchers and Juniper.
The research is led by Dr Jacqueline Francis-Coad from the University of Western Australia’s School of Allied Health along with Professor Anne-Marie Hill and Project Manager Vanessa Jessup, who are all Physiotherapists.
The project is one of six across Australia to address crucial health and wellbeing issues in our growing ageing community population through a 2023 Translation Research Grant funded by the HCF Research Foundation.
