Juniper renames aged care home to ‘Karinya’ to honour Indigenous Heritage

Juniper is thrilled to announce the official renaming of Juniper City of Bayswater Residential Aged Care Home to Juniper Karinya Residential Aged Care Home, effective immediately. This renaming follows Juniper’s acquisition of the City of Bayswater’s aged care assets on October 31, 2023.

The name “Karinya,” is inspired by the Aboriginal word meaning “the Happy Home,” and reflects Juniper’s commitment to providing a safe, secure, and relaxing home.

Juniper CEO Russell Bricknell stated that selecting an Aboriginal word for the new name holds special significance for Juniper.

“Renaming our home to Juniper Karinya reflects Juniper’s deep respect for Indigenous traditions and our commitment to fostering a culturally inclusive environment.”

The decision to adopt an Aboriginal word for the new name was a collaborative effort involving customers and families, highlighting Juniper’s community-focused approach and commitment to inclusivity.

“We are excited to embark on this new chapter and look forward to updating our signage and hosting an opening event to celebrate this milestone,” added Mr Bricknell.

It’s important to note that this transition will not impact the quality of care and services. Business operations will continue as usual, with no disruption to any care or living arrangements.
