In February, residents from across our Juniper Rowethorpe retirement living community in Bentley came together at our Health and Wellness event to learn more about Juniper Home and Community Care, including nursing and Allied Health services, and how it can empower them to live life their way.
Our passionate team of nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists were on hand to chat about our new weekly nursing clinic, group therapy programs and future plans for regular physiotherapy and occupational therapy clinics.
Around 70 turned out at our Sutton Community Centre, where our team mingled with residents and answered questions about allied health support, home care services, funding and eligibility.
Juniper Physiotherapist Robert Moore got the crowd up and out of their seats as he spoke about the benefits of the physiotherapy to improve mobility and wellness and demonstrated common exercises as part of the GLA:D (Good Life with osteoArthritis: Denmark) program, which was developed by Danish researchers to help people with hip or knee osteoarthritis.
The aim of the event was to answer questions about accessing in-home support, including nursing and allied health services, and to highlight the many benefits that this support can have in helping maintain an older person’s independence so that they can stay at home for longer and lead the quality life they deserve.
