“Our state-of-the-art Karrinyup centre together with new accommodation in Perth, Kununurra to Albany demonstrate Juniper’s commitment to choice, quality and modern services that older people and their families expect,” he said. “Juniper has invested in career pathways and training and development for its staff and has brought an additional 250 full time equivalent roles through its new projects.”
In addition to the self-funded $34M 120-bed Juniper Chrystal Halliday facility, the organisation since May 2018 has delivered:

“Our combined services, delivered by more than 1700 staff and 500 volunteers, gives Juniper one of the largest care footprints in the nation,” Mr Hall said. “Juniper carers and nursing staff bring a high level of care to our residents. We listen and learn so we can share life’s journey and enable our people to live their best life.
“With its expansive open areas, balconies and ocean views Juniper Chrystal Halliday has been specially designed so frail older people and those living with dementia may live comfortably, regardless of their means.”
Juniper Chrystal Halliday was officially opened by Juniper Board Chair Mr Fred Boshart and the Premier of Western Australia the Hon. Mark McGowan MLA and was dedicated by Uniting Church WA Moderator Rev Steve Francis on 10 September.
The grand opening event was attended by special guests including residents, family members and representatives from the aged care, government, business and community sectors. An Acknowledgement of Country by Wesley College’s Moorditj Mob was very well received.
Invited guests, together with Juniper Board members, staff, and former workers and volunteers, celebrated the organisation’s 70th anniversary.
“This 70th anniversary year is an opportunity to remember and celebrate our history and achievements as we look to the positive future we envision for Juniper and the people we serve, as a provider and employer of choice in aged care,” Mr Hall said.
The new Juniper Chrystal Halliday builds on many years of care from the Karrinyup site: “Chrystal Halliday was a teacher, tireless church volunteer and worker for social change,” Mr Hall said.
“Our new service honours her name and that spirit.”
