Family, friends, beach and garden: Recipe for happiness in Rockingham

Time with family, friends, at the beach, in the garden and even a friendly willy wagtail visitor are just some of the things that make attendees happy at this year’s Have A Go Day in Rockingham.

From the Juniper stand we asked visitors what was key to their wellbeing and happiness. Many agreed with our independent research, Voice of Older Western Australians, that found spending time with family, socialising, exercise and participating in meaningful hobbies and activities rated the highest.

The proximity of beautiful beaches to the Rockingham area was obviously a factor with attendees rating walking by the sea, swimming and even spending time with friends at the local Mermaid Swim Group as a happiness factor.

Interesting hobbies like gardening, bike riding, reading and square dancing also rated.

Spending time with family was the highest rated, as well as time socialising with friends was very important.

Rockingham Have A Go Day 2025 was well attended and provided lots of fun, entertainment and a great opportunity for Juniper to connect with the community.

Juniper staff were on hand to answer visitor enquiries about Home and Community Care, Retirement Living and Residential Aged Care, as well as having some fantastic chats.

A prize draw for one of five $100 gift vouchers was held on and the winners have been notified.
