New snack stations being rolled out across Juniper residential aged care homes are providing food choices for residents around the clock.
Whether it’s fresh fruit, a bowl of cereal, biscuits, banana bread or cheese and biscuits, there’s a delicious array of snacks in dining areas that are always at the ready for residents.
Juniper Chrystal Halliday Residential Services Lead Donna Hornsby (pictured) said the stations had proved popular in a short time as the stands offer residents more choices outside of mealtimes.
“It’s working really well, the fruit has been extremely popular,” Donna said.
“If residents would like a coffee and something to eat, it’s there.”
The snack stations are all about supporting residents to feel more included in their food choices, with plenty of healthy fruit options such as mandarins, bananas and apples on offer.
Introduction of the snack stations forms part of Juniper’s broader Dignity In Nutritional Excellence (DINE) program, which focuses on providing high-quality, nutritious meals to customers.
The roll out of the snack stations across Juniper sites is set for completion in early 2025.
