This commitment extends to our palliative care services, where we provide compassionate, comprehensive care that honours each person’s dignity and individuality.  

We are proud participants in an innovative Palliative Care Pilot Program aimed at enhancing the quality of life for individuals with life-limiting illnesses. This collaborative initiative with industry experts emphasises holistic and compassionate end-of-life care that not only addresses medical needs but also prioritises emotional, social, and spiritual well-being for patients and their families.  

By integrating these care practices, we strive to lead the way in transforming palliative care, ensuring every person receives the respect, empathy, and dignity they deserve. 

Palliative Care in Residential Aged Care 

Within our residential aged care homes, Juniper offers specialised palliative care services dedicated to providing comfort, peace, and dignity during life’s final stages. Our experienced and compassionate team works closely with customers and their families to address comprehensive needs and support a meaningful end-of-life experience. 

Our palliative care approach includes:  

• Pain and Symptom Management: Relief of pain and effective management of other symptoms to ensure maximum comfort. 

• Culturally and Spiritually Respectful Care: Creating a supportive and understanding environment that honours and respects everyone’s cultural and spiritual beliefs. 

• Emotional and Social Support: Offering emotional and social support through engaging activities and compassionate care. 

• Family Support and Grief Counselling: Our dedicated Pastoral and Spiritual Care team is available to offer extra support, providing solace and guidance to both customers and their families throughout this journey. 

 In addition, we understand the importance of family presence during these critical moments. To support families who wish to stay overnight with their loved ones, we offer fold-out beds for their convenience. This allows family members to remain close and provide comfort during difficult times, ensuring a supportive environment for both the individual and their loved ones. 

Quiet rooms are also available to offer a calm and peaceful setting for family and friends to come together and support each other.
